The Abyssinian Oil you will find at Herbstore.gr is 100% pure and comes in the aforementioned practical and economical sizes.
Abyssinian oil (Abyssinian seed oil) originates from Eastern Africa, specifically from the highlands of Ethiopia, and is obtained through the cold pressing of the seeds of the Brassica Abyssinica plant.
It is a lightweight, odorless oil that is heat stable and highly resistant to oxidation, with a clear, transparent appearance and a golden-hued color. It is easily absorbed by the skin, does not stick, does not clog pores, and leaves no oily residue, which allows it to be widely used in cosmetics.
Rich in unsaturated fatty acids Omega-6 and Omega-9 (erucic acid, oleic acid, and linoleic acid), as well as vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C, and E, proteins, and minerals, it exhibits exceptional medicinal and cosmetic properties.
It provides rich hydration and water resistance, as it is not washed away by water, which is why it is often used as an ingredient in waterproof mascaras. Its ability to spray easily makes it ideal for inclusion in facial serums and dry body oils, while its property of enhancing skin elasticity leads to filling wrinkles and fine lines, making it suitable for use in anti-aging products. Additionally, offering a silky texture and high spreadability, it is recommended as a natural alternative to silicones. Since it closely resembles human sebum, it can help control excessive sebum production, which can potentially lead to acne. Abyssinian oil also has excellent conditioning properties for hair, providing hydration, shine, softness, and strengthening the hair fibers, protecting them from breakage. Furthermore, its heat resistance, derived from its composition and high unsaturated fatty acid content, makes it an excellent protective agent for styling with hair dryers and straighteners. Finally, being an excellent solvent, it is widely used in color cosmetics, enhancing the dispersion of colors and pigments.
It is recommended for skin hydration products, creams, emulsions, serums, lotions, bath oils, and massage oils, natural solid soaps, scalp and hair care products, post-sun exposure care products, and color cosmetics (compressed powders and lip products).
In hair care products, it should be used at 1-2%.
Tip: Add it to massage oils for a lighter and less greasy effect. Use it with 1% Argan oil to create a facial care spray.
Caution: Individuals with nut allergies should not use it without their doctor’s approval.
Abyssinian Oil can be used alone or in combination with other carrier oils for even better results. Lastly, it is important to note that carrier oils are essential in aromatherapy, as they serve as the "vehicle" for adding essential oils.
