Elemi is the common name for the plant Canarium luzonicum. The essential oil of Elemi is derived from the distillation of its resin and has an exotic, citrusy, strong aroma.

The essential oil of Elemi is used in aromatherapy as an effective aid for relieving symptoms of colds and flu. It possesses strong antiseptic properties and is recommended for treating infected wounds. It is also suitable for skin issues, respiratory infections, and states of nervous tension. In combination with Myrrh, it has anti-inflammatory and healing properties.

The components of Elemi essential oil also have medicinal characteristics. In ancient Egypt, Elemi was one of the scents used in the mummification process. The essential oil can heal simple wounds and can also be used for abscesses, helping to combat inflammation.
