Cedarwood Essential Oil (Cedarwood Atlas or Atlantica) is derived from the processing of the wood of the Cedrus Atlantica tree. This evergreen conifer can reach heights of up to 35 meters and resembles the well-known Lebanon Cedar. Its name comes from the region where it thrives, the Atlas Mountains, which are part of Algeria and Morocco.

The essential oil of Cedarwood Atlantica has a pleasant woody aroma (balsamic, woody), making it popular in perfumery and soap manufacturing. In terms of its properties, it is considered antiseptic and antifungal, and you will find it in many recipes addressing acne, cellulite, eczema, and skin diseases. Cedarwood Atlantica is also believed to assist in treating hair loss and dandruff, which is why it is included in many specialized shampoos. In the U.S., it is used by the pesticide industry to produce products that repel termites and ants.
