Organic Litsea essential oil is extracted from the fruits of the Litsea Cubeba plant using steam distillation.
The organic Litsea essential oil is a light yellow liquid with a strong, sweet, and fresh aroma reminiscent of lemon. It is well-soluble in alcohol (1:3, 70% ethanol), vegetable oils, and other essential oils. It is nearly insoluble in water. The main component of organic Litsea essential oil is citral, a mixture of geranial and neral compounds. In smaller quantities, it also contains limonene, geraniol, and citronellol.
The compounds of organic Litsea essential oil have various health-related properties. Traditional Chinese medicine has used organic Litsea essential oil for a long time to treat infections, colds, and flu.
