Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans) is the “seed” of the fruit of the evergreen tree of the same name, native to the Moluccas, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia, reaching heights of up to 10 meters. For many centuries, nutmeg was highly coveted and was the most expensive spice in Europe.

Nutmeg essential oil is obtained through the distillation of the plant's seeds and is nearly colorless with a sweet, warm, and spicy aroma.
