The Propolis tincture is made from soaking pure propolis in an alcoholic solution (grappa) for a period of 4-6 weeks. During this time, the active ingredients of propolis dissolve into the alcoholic solution, resulting in the tincture.
Propolis Tincture is derived from processing propolis, the resinous substance that bees use to seal, fortify, and disinfect the interior of their hives.
This substance contains countless components, primarily consisting of resins, wax, essential oils, and pollen. Propolis is known for its antibacterial, antifungal, antibiotic, and antiseptic properties. For this reason, it is used in traditional medicine as an immune system booster. Propolis is often referred to as "nature's antibiotic." It aids in healing allergies, eye diseases and inflammations, pharyngitis, prostate issues, gynecological conditions (such as acute vaginitis), eczema, and skin diseases.
In recent decades, hundreds of studies have been conducted on the effects of propolis on the human body. Evidence suggests that the consumption and topical application of propolis may positively impact a wide range of conditions. It appears to be particularly effective in cases of oral cavity diseases (gingivitis, stomatitis, etc.), respiratory infections (asthma & chronic pneumonia), stomach ulcers, influenza and colds, otitis, and generally against fungal and viral infections.
Overall, propolis is regarded by many as a truly "miraculous" substance that helps "shield" the body.
The Propolis tincture is very potent, and for this reason, it should be consumed according to the provided instructions. The usual dosage is 0.25-0.50ml (approximately 5-10 drops per day). It should not be consumed during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
The Propolis tincture is prepared in Greece under the strictest European standards, using exclusively pure and tested raw materials.
