The Oregano tincture is made from soaking the flowers and leaves of oregano in an alcoholic solution (grappa) for a period of 4-6 weeks. During this time, the active ingredients of the plant dissolve into the alcoholic solution, resulting in the tincture.
Oregano Tincture (Origanum Officinale) is derived from the processing of the leaves and flowers of the well-known plant. Oregano has a long history as a medicinal herb. The ancient Greeks used it (in ointment form) to relieve sore muscles, while the Chinese consumed it as a digestive aid. In modern herbal therapy, oregano is believed to strengthen the immune system. Recent studies show that the plant contains compounds with strong antibacterial and antioxidant properties. The active substances thymol and carvacrol in oregano exhibit antimicrobial properties and are particularly effective against gastrointestinal infections.
Oregano possesses strong antioxidant properties. Recent research suggests that its antioxidant action is 42 times stronger than that of apples, 30 times stronger than potatoes, and 12 times stronger than oranges. The antioxidant action of oregano protects the human body from diseases and infections.
In addition to the above, oregano is a valuable source of Vitamin K, which is important for the immune system, as well as minerals like iron and magnesium. To ensure these valuable compounds remain active, the oregano tincture available at Herbstore.gr is made using fresh rather than dried leaves. Additionally, it has beneficial effects for osteoarthritis, rheumatism, arthritis, and blood sugar issues.
Herbal tinctures retain all the active ingredients of the plant, are particularly easy to take, and are entirely natural. They undoubtedly surpass dietary supplements in pill form, as they contain no chemicals or preservatives and are absorbed much more effectively by the body.
Herbal tinctures are very potent, so they should be consumed according to the provided instructions. The usual dosage is 0.5-1ml (approximately 10-20 drops per day). They should not be consumed during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
The Oregano tincture is prepared in Greece under the strictest European standards, using exclusively pure and tested raw materials.
