The Dandelion Tincture is made by soaking the leaves and flowers of the dandelion in an alcoholic solution (grappa) for a period of 4-6 weeks. During this time, the active ingredients from the herbs dissolve into the alcoholic solution, resulting in the tincture.
The Dandelion Tincture (Taraxacum officinale) contains the same active ingredients as the dried dandelion herb. In modern herbal therapy, dandelion is used for a wide range of health issues, as it is believed to possess remarkable properties. One of its significant benefits is its ability to detoxify the body. Dandelion effectively cleanses the blood and tissues of harmful toxins that accumulate in the body—an essential property for treating skin conditions. The herb is a diuretic, helping to cleanse the urinary system; unlike other diuretic herbs, it does not deplete potassium levels, as its high potassium content compensates for any losses. It is believed that dandelion supports increased bile flow and stimulates both the liver and gallbladder (a property attributed to the substance taraxacin it contains). The herb is thought to have strong antibacterial properties and, according to Chinese herbalists, may be effective against "strong" bacteria (such as pneumonia, diphtheria, staphylococcus, etc.). Reports suggest that consuming dandelion reduces cholesterol, improves gland function, helps maintain normal body weight, and positively affects all liver conditions. Dandelion is regarded as one of the best herbs for stimulating, detoxifying, and regulating the functions of the human body.
Tinctures preserve all the active ingredients of the herb, are very easy to take, and are completely natural. They undoubtedly have advantages over dietary supplements in pill form, as they contain no chemicals or preservatives and are absorbed much more effectively by the body.
Herbal tinctures are very potent, and for this reason, they should be consumed according to the provided instructions. The usual dosage is 0.5-1ml (approximately 10-20 drops) per day. They should not be consumed during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
