The Thyme tincture is made from soaking the leaves and flowers of thyme in an alcoholic solution (grappa) for a period of 4-6 weeks. During this time, the active ingredients dissolve into the alcoholic solution, resulting in the tincture.

Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is a plant highly valued in our country. Its use, primarily as a spice, dates back to the time of Egypt and ancient Greece (noted by Hippocrates). Recent years have increasingly confirmed that thyme possesses remarkable medicinal properties.

Research from the University of Manitoba, Canada (published in the International Journal of Food Microbiology), shows that thyme has strong antibacterial properties, significantly reducing bacterial resistance to antibiotics like penicillin. For this reason, thyme tincture is suitable for addressing gastrointestinal disorders (stomachaches, colics, diarrhea, etc.) caused by intestinal and stomach bacteria.

Another study conducted by Leeds Metropolitan University in the UK found that thyme tincture is highly effective against acne. According to the study's lead, Dr. Margarita Gomez-Escalada, thyme tincture proved to be more effective against the bacteria causing acne (Propionibacterium acnes) than benzoyl peroxide, the main active ingredient in many over-the-counter creams.

Research on guinea pigs in Serbia by the University of Belgrade suggests that thyme tincture may be effective against high blood pressure.

Thyme tincture is believed to protect the body from bacterial infections resulting from consuming contaminated food. A study published in Food Science and Technology International indicated that thyme tincture is particularly effective against bacteria from the Staphylococcus, Enterococcus, Escherichia, and Pseudomonas genera. Even against strains of bacteria that show significant antibiotic resistance, thyme tincture demonstrated impressive results.
