Properties:

Additionally, organic mint is used as a spice in risotto, various salads, Cretan kaltsounia, noodle dishes, and in various meats (such as beef and meatballs), and it pairs wonderfully with anchovies.
Origin: Greece, Imathia region (cultivated).
Storage: Keep in a dark and cool place (5°C – 15°C).
Preparation:
Add 1 tablespoon of dried organic mint (or a pinch of uncrushed) to a container with 1 cup of boiling water. Let it steep for 10-15 minutes, then strain before use.
Culinary Recipes with Organic Mint:
(1) Fried Pastries
Ingredients (for 4-6 servings):
For the dough:
- 1 kg flour
- 1 small wine glass of oil
- 1 small wine glass of milk or tsikoudia
- ½ egg
Chicken Filling:
- 1 chicken breast, finely chopped
- Chopped mushrooms
- Chopped onion
- Egg white
- Dried thyme
- Dried parsley
- Dried mint
Instructions:
Dough for pastries: Mix all the ingredients together to form a pliable dough. Roll out the dough using a pasta machine or a rolling pin. Cut into uniform squares, fill with your desired filling on one half of the dough, and fold over. Press the edges with your finger, turning the ends inward. Fry in hot oil until golden brown, then drain on absorbent paper.
Chicken Filling: Season the chicken, add the egg white, and blend until smooth. Sauté the onion with the mushrooms, then add the chicken mixture and herbs. After well sautéed, blend the mixture again.
(2) Meatballs with Pasta and Red Sauce
A pasta dish that is anything but ordinary. Make enough, as your guests are likely to ask for seconds!
