The extract of Gotu Kola, known as Centella Asiatica, has been traditionally used in the ancient systems of traditional medicine in India.
It has a wide range of applications that have been primarily recorded in the regions of the Far East and India, and it continues to be one of the most popular herbs in "modern" herbalism.
In general, it activates the central nervous system and rebuilds energy reserves. As a tonic for the nervous system, Gotu Kola is recommended for neurological disorders (such as epilepsy, dementia). It is believed to combat stress and depression, activate cognitive powers, increase libido, prevent potential nervous breakdowns, and improve reflexes.
The main active ingredient it contains is triterpene compounds. Saponins, also known as triterpenoids, are phytochemicals found in vegetables, legumes, and herbs.
The "Cerebral" Tonic.
As a brain tonic, it is believed to enhance intelligence and support healthy memory function, a fact proven by modern studies. In one study, children who took half a gram of Gotu Kola extract powder daily for a year showed significant improvement in their intellectual level. After six months, there was significant improvement in their intelligence, cognitive function, and concentration.

Gotu Kola contains certain chemicals that appear to reduce inflammation as well as lower blood pressure in the veins while strengthening the venous walls. Gotu Kola also seems to increase collagen production, which is important for wound healing and scar tissue.
Indeed, Gotu Kola is a well-studied herb, and the overwhelming majority of its therapeutic properties, including its ability to measurably extend life, have been documented and validated by the scientific community.

Because it strengthens blood vessel walls, it may also be effective in slowing retinopathy, the gradual breakdown of the retina in the eyes. It may also help relieve hemorrhoids. These same effects are believed to enhance the lining of the gastrointestinal tract, making it potentially useful for treating ulcers.
It is popular for preventing infections and inhibiting scar formation on the skin. Specifically, it has been found effective when applied to patients with third-degree burns, provided treatment begins immediately after the incident. It enhances the renewal process of the skin and connective tissues as well as smoothing cellulite.
To enhance the effort in combating cellulite, you can combine this herbal mixture with local applications of Ivy oil or Seaweed oil, which are considered ideal oils for cellulite and localized fat.
Some people use Gotu Kola for tonsillitis, fluid around the lungs (pleurisy), liver disease (hepatitis), jaundice, etc.
Gotu Kola has the ability to strengthen blood vessel walls, causing vasodilation and thus supporting the smooth functioning of the circulatory system. It helps maintain a healthy central nervous system through the blood flow it promotes, providing beneficial effects in addressing symptoms of various anxiety disorders.
