Organic Pumpkin Seed Oil is derived from pumpkin seeds and has been traditionally produced in parts of Europe for over 300 years. Cucurbita pepo is the scientific name for pumpkins, but there are dozens of varieties and subspecies from which this oil is now produced. Pumpkin Seed Oil is used for a wide variety of culinary and medical applications and is now available in many parts of the world. The oil is either dark green or deep red, depending on its thickness, but when the oil begins to brown, it takes on a bitter taste.

The polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats found in significant amounts in this oil—including oleic, linoleic, palmitic, stearic, linolenic, and other fatty acids—are the active ingredients that provide most of the health benefits associated with this oil.
